RuPEN implements impactful initiatives across several key areas:

 

Digital Skills for All Initiative (DS4A):

Bridges the digital divide for rural youth, especially girls, through hands-on training in essential digital skills aligned with UNESCO and AU frameworks.

Quality Education for Rural Kids (Edu4All):

Ensures access to quality education for vulnerable children by providing materials, direct support, and scholarships, aligning with UN SDG 4.

Engaging Girls in ICT and STEM:

 Inspires and empowers girls to pursue ICT and STEM fields through competitions, hackathons, and recognition, aligning with UNGEI and AU Agenda 2063.

Waste for Energy and Wealth:

Supports the transition to Net Zero emissions by training residents to convert waste into clean energy (green charcoal, biogas), organic fertilizers, and insect-based feed, aligning with the Paris Agreement and UN SDG 12.

Mt Bamboutos Landscape Restoration and Conservation Initiative:

 Restores degraded landscapes through tree planting, agroforestry, and natural regeneration, empowering youth and women in line with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and AFR100.

Strengthening Rural Youths’ Civic and Socio-Cultural Engagement:

Empowers young people by enhancing their understanding of civic responsibilities, promoting proficiency in local languages, and fostering respect for cultural heritage.

Limiting Human Impact on Traditional Groves and Forests:

Protects biodiversity and cultural heritage by engaging communities in conservation, promoting sustainable alternatives like biogas and green charcoal, and advocating for local codes of conduct.

Sustainable Agriculture Promotion Initiative (SAPI):

Promotes climate-resilient and environmentally friendly farming practices through training in organic farming, agroecology, and climate-smart techniques, contributing to UN SDGs 2 and 13.

Engaging Teenagers to Combat Gender-Based Violence and Discriminations:

Mobilizes youth to challenge harmful gender norms and address gender-based violence through sensitization campaigns and advocacy.
